Russia, Recession, Racism, and Ridiculousness: Lonnie Spivak Gives His Take on ‘Deep State’ Whistleblower Motives

On Friday’s Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 am to 8:00 am – Michael Patrick Leahy talked to Lonnie Spivak, All-Star panelist with The Tennessee Star Report, who offered his thoughts on the origins and reasoning behind the ‘whistleblower’ in Washington, D.C.

Leahy: On the phone now continuing our discussion about the whistleblower issue. Our all-star panelist of The Tennessee Star Report, Lonnie Spivak. Hello Lonnie, good morning.

Spivak: Good morning Michael – how are you this morning?

Leahy: And by the way. Hats off to you for being the all-star panelist who ran the decision desk at our election watch event at Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop bar on the election on Thursday. You got them all right in a timely manner.

Spivak: Well great. I’m working on an article right now for the Tennessee Star that kind of goes into some of the data I was able to get from the election commission and I hope to have that to you today or tomorrow.

Yes, Every Kid

Leahy: Great. The data guy knows Davidson county voting behavior and history better than anyone than I know is Lonnie Spivak. But Lonnie, you weren’t calling about that.

Spivak: No I wasn’t. I wanted to call about the whistleblower because I think both you and Doug were kind of missing the point.

Leahy: Ah, OK. So both of us were wrong. Set us straight.

Spivak: Well the inspector general has no authority to even bring up anything on the President. The President can de-classify and talk to whoever he wants to about whatever he wants to. He sets the rules on that. The inspector general had no authority to even do anything with it. He should have just handed it back to the guy and said sorry I have no authority. And that would have been the end of it. It is part of the deep state but you know..

Leahy: This is a very important point. Why don’t you elaborate on this? I missed this point and I think have really elevated the discussion by bringing this to our attention. Yeah, my view on this is different from Dougs the whole hook on this right is I didn’t know our intelligence community has an inspector general.

Every federal department has an inspector general. And their charge is to look into corrupt activities within the agencies typically then do a report. Do I have that right?

Spivak: Yeah that would be right. It would be just within the agency and you know the President is the head of the executive branch. He’s not part of the intelligence community. He sets the rules. They do what he wants. Their job is to bring him intelligence. And they really have no authority to do anything.

Leahy: So let’s go to the real issue here where the mainstream media is hanging this whole thing on the report I guess from the inspector general of the intelligence community that the matter was ‘urgent.’ So let’s walk through the proper conduct of the inspector general should have been. So the steps are this alleged ‘whistleblower’ contacts the inspector general out of the blue and says, ‘Hey, I heard the President say this and I think it’s bad.’

Spivak: Yeah, I think so. And the inspector general said, ‘I’m sure a lot of people would have had that. He should have said, ‘I have no authority because the constitution doesn’t give me any authority here’ and handed it back to him.

Leahy: Well why did the inspector general decide to do a report on this then?

Spivak: Well why did the FBI decide to spy on President Trump? You can only wonder.

Leahy: Lonnie, I think you’ve nailed it here. I think you’ve nailed it. And i think it does reinforce the argument that this is the deep state pushing back against President Trump. It’s gone from Russia, recession, to racism to what would you call this?

Spivak: (Laughs) Ridiculous.

Leahy: Ridiculous.
